ride as the wave dumps on the pier. Don't
bother making bequests of your kit as it
will be trashed.

Windsurfing from the car park at
Waterville offers the convenience of being right in town for
those of the party who are not out on the water.
Rigging is on thick lawn
right beside the car, a real pleasure.
The conditions, while not
usually as extreme as further along towards the golf course
and beyond, can be wild - There are always plenty of
spectators, so make sure you choose your rig wisely or you
may offer more entertainment than you would like.
Conditions are best in
westerlies to southerlies - S-W is dead onshore -
Northerlies and N-W can offer good flat water with a side
shore.
The shore break looks worse
than it usually is - With the waves breaking right on the
beach walking out a short distance is the order of the
day.

Towards the Western side of town, take the left hand fork
and turn left into the car park at the tourist information
centre. Rigging is on thick grass near the water's
edge.
