The Sneem river is a well known spate river where good catches of salmon and sea trout are made year after year.
The fishing is privately owned by the Cowper family but a fishing club was formed in 1997 and certain stretches of the river are reserved for club members and for visitors who may obtain day tickets from the tourist office in the village.
When the Cowper family are not in residence the lodge, together with the normally private fishing, is available for rental on a weekly basis.
The lodge is situated close to the village and adjacent to the most prolific pool on the river.
It sleeps eight in three double and two single rooms, all of which have hand-basins.
There is a sitting room with separate dining room, kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, bathroom with shower and two lavatories.
A 16 foot open boat with 6 hp outboard is moored in the estuary - ideal for sea fishing, picnics etc.
